To begin studying a course or a programme at university is a step into the world of academia. This is a world that does not bear much resemblance to primary or secondary school. Furthermore, academic norms and culture may differ between countries. We would like to provide you with insight into the norms and values of higher education and academic ethical values.
Upholding the ethical values of higher education includes, for example, that you do not cheat in written exams and do not plagiarise text from other authors when writing your assignment or your thesis. But sometimes the border between what is cheating and plagiarism and what is not is hard to discern.
